Probably best to contact the developer (ikarus) and ask then if they plan to release this on steam and their estimated timing. My original direct download version of RC8 already contained all the addons and cost me about the same as the current Steam RC8 plus both addons. I'm pretty sure ikarus will offer RC9, probably by itself and maybe as an upgrade depending on which RC8 addons you already have. However, in the future I think RC9 will see the most development improvements.
#STEAM AEROFLY RC 7 WITH DX6 UPDATE#
RC8 is still supported and the direct download version actually just got an update yesterday. shrink a jet with 2.4 m wingspan to 1.2 m wingspan or increase the wingspan up to 4.8 m. Each model, whether fixed wing model or helicopters, can be adjusted in size, from 50 to 200 of the original size Users can i.e. Still good to support the developers though. It sounds unbelievable, but with the aeroflyRC7 arrives a new function, which increases the model selection infinitely. Overall I very happy with RC9 but to be honest I probably could have lived with RC8 given the limited aircraft (mainly heli's) and scenery I fly with. Also a few new 2D sceneries, but no additional 4D scenery (which I mainly use for VR).

Fly a large selection of highly detailed aircraft or a helicopter with fully animated and interactive 3D cockpits. I thought the upgrade cost was pretty reasonable (think it was ~$50). Aerofly FS 2 lets you explore the world of flying in a quality never seen before. Learn the basics of flying at our flight school or jump right into the captains seat and land the majestic 747 at one of the busiest airports of the world. About a month ago I bought an Upgrade from RC8 (direct download version, not Steam) to RC9 direct download version direct from the ikarus website shop (google to find it).
